Low-Cost Therapy with Student Clinicians

Our supervised Student Therapists offer Low-Cost Therapy as part of their clinical training. While they’re still completing their graduate education, they work under the close supervision of a registered clinician. This program not only makes therapy more accessible, but it can also offer a meaningful, supportive experience for clients.

Let’s explore how it works, who it’s for, and what you can expect.

Student Clinicians Transparent Background

How it works

Virtual Sessions

All sessions are digital / online / telephone-based / virtual (i.e., telephone or video-based)

Session Recording

All sessions are audio and / or video recorded for training purposes, viewed by the student and their supervisor, and destroyed after they are no longer needed for supervisory.

Schedule

Clinical sessions are typically during weekday hours (9:30am – 6:30pm, EDT / EST);

Purpose

Clinical services are intended for personal issues.

Next Steps

After the initial 80-minute intake session, your file will be discussed with the student’s supervisor whereby a treatment plan will be discussed and the student will follow-up with you to discuss subsequent treatment planning.

Things we cannot assist with

The student clinician cannot assist with issues involving litigation, patients presenting with potential or officially diagnosed conditions (e.g., borderline personality disorder, bipolar personality disorder, schizophrenic patients, etc.), or patients who are actively suicidal or that have made recent suicidal attempts.

Who is this program for?

At our clinic (CWCP), we partner with our federally registered charity, Bridging With Support, to offer low-cost therapy for communities who have historically faced systemic barriers to care, including:
