Therapy and Counselling for Anger Management

Learn how to express anger in healthy, productive ways.

We all feel angry sometimes. It's a natural human emotion. But when anger becomes overwhelming, frequent, or destructive (either towards yourself or others), it may be time to get support. At Church Wellesley Counselling and Psychotherapy, we offer anger management therapy that helps you explore the root of your anger, recognize triggers, and build practical tools to respond more effectively.

When is Anger a Problem?

  • Panic attacks or shortness of breath during stressful moments

  • Physical symptoms like racing heart, muscle tension, or upset stomach

  • Trouble focusing or feeling "present" in conversations

  • Using food, screens, or substances to cope with overwhelming emotions

  • When it affects your relationships, well-being, or work

  • When it becomes hard to control or comes out unexpectedly

  • When it leads to frequent aggression, arguments, or regret

  • When you're often left feeling ashamed, exhausted, or guilty

You Don’t Have to “Have an Anger Problem” to Benefit

You might not yell. You might carry a low simmering resentment every day. Anger doesn’t always look loud. Therapy can help, even if you’re just trying to be a little more in control, a little more kind -- to yourself and others.

You and your clinician will decide on the frequency of meetings.
